I just thought of a dirty pickup line at work and I thought I’d share it with you before it disappears into the depths of my genius brain:
“Hey, why don’t you come back to my heap and I’ll recursively push my local variables till it blows the top off your dynamic stack.”
Semantic error with the pick-up line:
Heap and stack memory are two different types of memory and so it makes no sense to use “heap” in replacement of a “house” because that isn’t where the stack resides. This is a key distinction because the pickup line is insinuating that your stack will be “exploded” back at his “heap,” which is untrue, in fact, if the stack memory overflows then there will be no space for heap memory.
So actually.. a more accurate pick up line would be:
“Hey, why don’t you come back to my process specific memory location and I’ll recursively push my local variables till it blows the top off your heap and overflows into someone else’s process memory”
But it’s OBVIOUS that this corrected pickup line has no chance of seducing anyone.
It’s a sad state of affairs when semantically correct expressions of desire has no place in human procreation process.
