Definitions of Love that doesn’t help at all

Defining Love is like defining Balance. You can understand what you’re reading but you won’t “get” it till after you’ve already experienced it. So for the most part, definitions of such things are useless. But it’s fun to see how other’s who I respect view it.

“Man is an end in himself. Romantic love—the profound, exalted, lifelong passion that unites his mind and body in the sexual act—is the living testimony to that principle.”
-Ayn Rand from “Of Living Death,” The Voice of Reason, 55-56.

“To love is to recognize yourself in another.”
-Eckhart Tolle

“Love is granting another the space to be the way they are and the way they aren’t so they can change if they want to and they don’t have to.”
-Werner Erhard

“We are all a little weird and life’s a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love.”
-Dr. Seuss
